A person who causes a vehicle accident while driving drunk is negligent, and should be held responsible for the damage they cause. There is no excuse for driving drunk. Yet nearly a third of auto crash deaths involve a drunk driver. Over a million drivers are arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or narcotics each year. That is only a small fraction of those who actually drive while impaired. Young adults are most at risk of being seriously injured in an alcohol-related crash. On a community level, sobriety checkpoints and ignition interlocks on the cars of convicted DWI offenders can help. As an individual, you should always make sure there is a designated driver when out with a group. Do not allow friends to drive if they have been drinking.
Gordon Levinson is a major supporter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and serves on that organization’s Advisory Board. He is passionate about the fight against drunk driving and will aggressively represent you if you have been injured on the road by a drunk driver.
It is a fact that one in four drivers on the road do not have liability insurance. What does that mean for you and your family if you have been injured by one of these irresponsible uninsured motorists? It could mean tragedy, especially if you don’t know the law and if you don’t know your rights. At the Levinson Law Group, one of our specialties is helping the victims of uninsured motorist car accidents. If you are the victim of one of these tragic accidents, call us today for a free consultation.
About Escondido, California
Escondido is located north of San Diego and has a population of about 143,911 people. It is situated in a shallow valley surrounded by rocky hills, and it is home to 15 city parks. The city of Escondido was founded in 1888, making it one of the oldest cities in San Diego County. Earlier, in 1843, the land was granted by the Spanish governor to become Rancho Rincon del Diablo. A battle in the Mexican American War was fought in the area. During the first half of the 20th century, Escondido was primarily agricultural, growing grapes, lemons, oranges, olives, walnuts and avocados. Most of the land is now residential. Its Mediterranean climate is warmer in the summer and cooler in the winter than areas closer to the coast. The San Diego Zoo Safari Park, which shows animals in open habitats, is a popular attraction and is located nearby.
